人のパートナーとなるようなロボットの開発を目指して研究を行っています。
ロボットに感情などの内部状態を持たせなければ上辺だけのコミュニケーションになってしまうと考え、真のコミュニケーションを目指し、感情モデルを中心とした研究に取り組んでいます。
感情モデル
人とロボットが共感し合う未来を目指して感情モデルの研究を行っています。
感情モデルを作ることを通して、人の感情のメカニズムを明らかにするとともに、ロボットに感情モデルを実装し、人を理解し自身の感情を表出する人工物を開発します。
RESEARCH
I'm conducting research aiming at the development of a robot that can be a “true” human
partner.
I believe that robots are required to have internal states such as emotions, otherwise humanrobot communication becomes very superficial. I'm working on the following research topics focusing on the modeling of emotion.
Emotion Model
This research proposes a computational model of emotion concerning empathic communication between humans and robots.
Through developing the emotional model, I will clarify the mechanism of human emotions.
I will also implement the emotion model in the robot so that the robot understands humans and expresses its own emotions.

RESEARCH
Partner Drone
I conduct research on drone as a partner who always keeps with the user by making full use of its flying ability.
By using emotional expression as one of communication elements, we will elucidate what kind of elements of drone that are far from emotions are important for empathic communication.
Holding Hand Robot
I study the change in relationships when people and robots hold hand in hand.
Body contact, which is one of non-verbal information, plays an important role in human-human communication.
We will verify whether the effect is established even if it is human-robot communication.
